The Burlington, Ontario Sound of Music Festival is a FREE summer music event with entertainment for every generation. Several stages along Burlington's beautiful waterfront and downtown present a variety of music, carnival, Children's Village, Downtown Streefest and a free music education program for children.
The Festival features several music genres including jazz, folk, pop, big band, country, blues, Latin, and children's music. From new and emerging artists to Canadian icons and fan favourites, the Festival offers a musical line-up second to none.
Sound of Music Festival is proud to have earned and received Festival and Events Ontario’s ‘Festival of Distinction’ designation ranking us amongst the best events in Ontario. The Festival has also been the recipient of the ‘Grand Pinnacle’ from the IFEA (International Festival and Events Association). The Grand Pinnacle is the IFEA’s highest award (divided into four budget categories) reflecting the best overall festival or event in the world.

Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival is Canada’s original and largest butter tart festival.
Plan your visit to the Town of Midland, on the shores of beautiful Georgian Bay, for all the wonderful sweet fun.
At the very first Butter Tart Festival in June 2013, the festival sold out by 11am of the 10,000 butter tarts available for sale.
The number of butter tarts available for sale increases each year (now up to 150,000 to 200,000 butter tarts available for sale) as does attendance (65,000 butter tart lovers visited in 2018).
The festival includes a contest to award the prize for the BEST Butter Tart in Ontario.The contest is open to both professional and amateur/home bakers.The contest features both Traditional and Wild Style categories. The judges include celebrities, chefs, food and travel bloggers, local dignitaries all with one thing in common – a love of butter tarts!
Midlands downtown core and waterfront parks host over 200 vendors and food trucks. Vendors sell everything from butter tarts to unique, hand-made items. And the variety of butter tarts you’ll find at the festival includes plain, raisin, pecan, walnut, skor, maple, bacon, coconut, chocolate covered, PB&J, s’mores, gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, cheesecake, pumpkin...and many more.
